PFAS Testing in Hastings Wells
The Minnesota Department of Health tests all six of our city wells for PFAS four times a year.
On April 10, 2024, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) set new safety limits for two kinds of PFAS — PFOA and PFOS. The limit is four parts per trillion (ppt), which is a very tiny amount.
Our most recent test results show:
- 5 out of 6 wells are above the safety limit for PFOA
- 1 out of 6 wells is above the safety limit for PFOS
