Permanent sign permits

  • Permanent sign permit application
  • Sign permits are required for all permanent signs, including refacing.
  • Separate electrical permits are required for any work on electrical connections.
  • Signs in historic districts and properties also require a Certificate of Approval by the HPC.
  • Electronic graphic display signs may not change messaging at a rate faster than six seconds and must automatically dim at night.

Temporary signs

  • Temporary sign notification form, required for every temporary sign.
  • Only one temporary sign may be displayed at a time per parcel
  • Temporary signage is allowed for a total of 90 days per calendar year per parcel
  • Signs must be securely attached and in good condition
  • Signs must be located on private property with the owner’s permission.
  • Size is limited to the allowable monument size allowed (usually 50 Sq Ft).
