Façade Improvement Grant Program

Your storefront is the first impression customers have of your business. To encourage reinvestment and reduce blight, the City of Hastings, through the Hastings Economic Development and Redevelopment Authority (HEDRA), offers the Façade Improvement Program. The program supports improvements to commercial and retail buildings, with priority given to Downtown and the Vermillion Street Corridor, though all commercial properties within City limits are eligible.

Any business can apply for funds that go toward exterior building improvements such as brick and window repair, storefronts, awnings, visible roof repairs, and other eligible exterior upgrades. The grant will fund one-third of the total project cost, up to $5,000. Applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to funding availability.
