Contact the Department of Building Safety if you have questions regarding your project and what type of permit(s) are required.

1. Submit the permit application and required submittals. This may be done by paper or by email.
2. Review of permit application begins after complete permit application package has been submitted. You may be contacted with questions and/or additional submittals. 
3. Payment - We will let you know when the permit is ready for payment, total due, and how to pay. See Fee Schedule to determine permit fee amount.
4. Issued permits will be emailed to you or can be picked up at City Hall.

If you start a new business, change location, or change the use of your space in a way that creates more potential demand on the wastewater system, you will be required to submit for a sewer availability charge (SAC) determination and possibly pay SAC.

SAC due will be collected with the payment of the building permit at the following rate per MCES SAC credit due:

MCES SAC: $2,485

City SAC: $945   

City WAC: $2,957
