Available Lands and Real Estate

Hastings has many real estate opportunities. Whether you are looking for an undeveloped piece of land or a redevelopment site, the city has a lot to offer. Our businesses are found in four main districts:

Hastings has a historic business district that offers a mix of commercial and residential properties. Enhanced by the Mississippi River, Levee Park and regional bike trails, this area offers a lot of opportunities to business owners.

The Downtown Business Association is a group of business owners that plan and host events throughout the year that add to the vibrancy of the area

A growing commercial hub of Hastings, the Highway 55 corridor sees at least 15,000 vehicles per day. Properties in this area include larger big box developments like Fleet Farm, Cub and Walmart and smaller strip centers with many national brands.

A Concept Area Plan was adopted by City Council in 2025 to identify possible land uses for properties that want to be annexed into the City limits.

This 3-mile stretch of U.S. Highway 61 is full of redevelopment opportunities. Serving over 30,000 vehicles per day, this is a main thoroughfare for the City. The Vermillion Street Corridor Study identifies potential redevelopment sites. The entire highway will be reconstructed starting in 2028.

Home to larger scale manufacturing facilities like Intek Plastics and QualityOne Woodworking, the Hastings Industrial Park offers space for manufacturing, distribution, and technology based businesses.

The City has vacant parcels available for sale that range from 1-acre to 50-acres in size.
