Operations Committee

The Operations Committee of the Hastings City Council provides oversight of the City’s infrastructure, facilities and key services that keep Hastings running smoothly. The Committee is responsible for guiding policy and operational decisions related to public works, permits and facility maintenance.

The Public Works Director reports to the Committee, providing regular updates on departmental activities, capital improvements and public infrastructure needs.

Committee Responsibilities

• Oversight of the Public Works Department
• Review of building permits and street opening permits
• Maintenance and repair of City-owned structures and facilities
• Preparation and review of special assessments for infrastructure projects
• Input on infrastructure planning, capital projects and service delivery

Meeting Schedule

The Operations Committee meets as needed, based on ongoing projects and operational needs. Meetings are open to the public but are not televised.
