Historic Preservation Committee
The Historic Preservation Committee of the Hastings City Council serves as a liaison between the City Council and the Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC). The Committee provides guidance, oversight and communication support for the City's efforts to protect and preserve Hastings’ historical and cultural assets.
The City Planner reports to the Committee and provides updates and recommendations related to preservation planning, ordinances and ongoing historic initiatives.
Committee Responsibilities
- Serve as a communication link with the Heritage Preservation Commission (HPC)
- Provide input on historic preservation policies and planning
- Review and make recommendations to the City Council on preservation-related issues
- Support community engagement and education related to historic preservation efforts

Meeting Schedule
The Historic Preservation Committee meets as needed, depending on upcoming preservation issues or initiatives. Meetings are open to the public but are not televised.
