Public Safety Advisory Commission
The Public Safety Advisory Commission (PSAC) serves as a citizen-led advisory body focused on the Police, Fire and EMS services of the City of Hastings. The Commission provides a valuable opportunity for community members to engage directly with public safety leadership and offer feedback on safety-related programs and services.
Purpose & Responsibilities
The PSAC helps:
- Encourage community involvement in public safety programs
- Foster open communication between residents and the Police and Fire/EMS departments
- Provide input and recommendations on safety-related initiatives, priorities and concerns
- Strengthen trust, transparency and collaboration between the community and public safety personnel
The Commission is supported by the Police Chief and Fire/EMS Chief, who attend and participate in commission meetings.
Commission Membership
- The PSAC consists of seven (7) appointed members
- Members serve varied terms to ensure continuity and fresh perspectives
- All members are residents of Hastings with an interest in community safety
Meeting Information
The Public Safety Advisory Commission meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
