Hastings Economic Development and Redevelopment Authority (HEDRA)
The Hastings Economic Development and Redevelopment Authority (HEDRA) plays a key role in shaping the future growth and vitality of the City. HEDRA is responsible for guiding the development and implementation of the City's economic development and redevelopment strategies, with a focus on business support, job creation, property revitalization and long-term community investment.
Purpose & Responsibilities
- Promote economic growth and business retention/attraction
- Support redevelopment of underutilized or vacant properties
- Oversee financial incentive tools such as tax increment financing (TIF)
- Collaborate with developers, businesses and community partners
- Align projects with the City’s comprehensive and strategic plans
Member Composition
- HEDRA is made up of seven appointed members:
- Five (5) citizen members
- Two (2) City Councilmembers
- Members serve varied terms to ensure continuity and fresh perspectives
- All members are residents of Hastings with an interest in the City's economic development and redevelopment and long-term community investments.
