Spring Load Restrictions
The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has initiated spring load restrictions on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. Minnesota Statute 169.87 dictates that all loads on paved roads within the City of Hastings will be limited to ten tons per axle during the spring load restriction period unless otherwise posted.
Why do we do this?
When the ground thaws in spring, roads become more susceptible to damage. Heavy trucks can cause serious damage if they carry too much weight. These rules help keep our streets safe and extend their useful life.
