How to Obtain a Permit

Contact the Department of Building Safety if you have questions regarding your project and what type of permit(s) are required.

1. Submit the permit application and required submittals.  This may be done by paper or email.  Some residential permit types that don't require plan review are available to be submitted through the Permit Portal.
2. Review of permit application begins after complete permit application package has been submitted. You may may be contacted with questions and/or additional submittals. 
3. Payment- We will let you know when review is complete, and the permit is ready for payment.  See Fee Schedule to determine permit fee amount.
4. Issued permits will be emailed to you or can be picked up at City Hall.
