Police Policies

The Hastings Police Department is committed to providing the highest possible standards of professional policing. Department policies are written to comply with national standards, as well as state and local law, ensuring that all officers act with integrity, fairness and accountability. 

Transparency and community trust are central to our mission. To uphold these values, the following required agency policies are made available to the public in accordance with the Minnesota Peace Officer Standards and Training Board and Minnesota Administrative Rules 6700.1615. These policies outline the department’s procedures, expectations and responsibilities, covering areas such as use of force, officer conduct, reporting and citizen interactions. By providing public access to these policies, the Hastings Police Department demonstrates its commitment to accountability, community engagement and professional excellence in law enforcement.
