The Hastings Fire Department welcomes community members of all ages to explore the fire station, meet firefighters and learn how we work to keep the community safe. A station tour offers a behind-the-scenes look at our equipment, daily operations and the life of a firefighter.

Whether you’re planning a school field trip, scout activity, community group visit or simply want to bring your family by for a fun and educational experience, our team is excited to show you around.

What You Will See on a Station Tour

During your visit, you can expect:

  • Fire Apparatus Walk-Through: Explore fire engines, ambulances and rescue vehicles.

  • Gear and Equipment Demonstrations: See turnout gear, tools and medical equipment up close.

  • Fire Station Facilities: Learn how firefighters live, work and stay ready 24/7.

  • Fire Safety Education: Learn important tips about smoke alarms, escape planning and emergency preparedness.

  • Q&A With Firefighters – Ask questions and get insight into daily work and training.

We welcome:

Tours are free and open to the public.

How to Schedule a Tour

For larger groups or full guided tours, please schedule in advance so our team can prepare and ensure staff availability.

When booking, please include:

  • Group name

  • Number of participants

  • Preferred dates and times

  • Age range of attendees

  • Any special interests or accommodations

Want a Quick Visit?

You are always welcome to bring children of any age by the station to see the fire trucks. No appointment is needed!

Important Notes

  • Firefighters remain on duty during tours and may need to respond to emergencies. If this happens, your tour may be paused or rescheduled.

  • Adult supervision is required for all youth groups.

  • Photography is welcome unless otherwise directed by staff.
