The City of Hastings is a historic and dynamic community located at the confluence of the Mississippi, Vermillion and St. Croix rivers, just Southeast of St. Paul. We are a community that deeply values and appreciates our public safety partners.

The Hastings Fire and EMS Department is a dual-role department, providing both fire services and pre-hospital emergency medical care through an Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedic ambulance service.

Be a vital part of a team serving one of the largest service areas in the Twin Cities area, covering approximately 150 square miles. Our service area includes:

• Cities: Hastings and Vermillion
• Townships: Denmark, Nininger, Vermillion, Marshan and Ravenna

In 2024, the department responded to 3,659 calls for service.
