* Freestyle skating sessions are meant for figure skating practice time; they are not for open skating.

Stick and Puck Rules

Stick and Puck sessions provide an opportunity for hockey players of all ages to practice and develop their individual skills in a safe, shared ice environment. Participants may work on shooting, stickhandling, and passing, practice with a parent, or shoot on a goalie. The arena provides four nets and pucks.

Stick and Puck is a practice session, not an open skate or open hockey session. Games of any kind are not permitted, and no formal lessons or coaching instruction may be given during the session. All participants must wear skates to access the ice, and helmets are mandatory for everyone, regardless of age. Participants under 18 must wear full hockey equipment, and a parent or guardian must remain in the building to supervise minors.

There is no age limit for participation; however, players of all ages and skill levels may be on the ice together, so everyone is expected to be aware of their surroundings, share the ice respectfully, and practice safely. Skate aids are not permitted.

These sessions are intended to give players the opportunity to work on their hockey skills independently while helping maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone on the ice.

Civic Arena Advertising

The City of Hastings offers advertising space at the Civic Arena, based on availability and fee structure.

• Contracts for all advertising space start November 1st and end the following October 31st.
• Spaces are filled on a first come, first served basis. If space is still available midway through the season, fees will be prorated accordingly.
• The advertiser is responsible for paying for and providing ready-to-install signage. The artwork and wordage must be approved by Arena Management prior to installation.
• The Arena staff will install the advertising sign.

Concession stands open at 4:00 pm on all Hastings High School Hockey game days and at 5:00 pm most other days.
