The Hastings City Council approved not shutting water off during the City’s Pandemic Emergency Declaration on March 16, 2020. It is important the residents and businesses of Hastings have access to clean, safe drinking water during the COVID-19 event. On March 26, 2020 the Hastings City Council approved not applying late fees to delinquent utility accounts to ease the financial burden on residents and business that are struggling economically during the COVID-19 event. When the City of Hastings removes the emergency declaration, late fees will begin again during the next billing cycle.
