The Hastings Police Department reminds residents, business and building owners who have alarm systems to register their alarm system and annually renew their alarm permit per City Ordinance 95.06 (passed 4-18-2011.)
New Alarm Permit Registration, please complete and return an Alarm Permit Application within thirty (3) days of your new alarm system becoming operational.
Renewing your Alarm Permit? Please complete and return an Alarm Permit Renewal Application at least thirty (30) days before your existing alarm permit expires.
Permits expire December 31 annually. New permits issued on or after July 1 of any year shall be valid for the remainder of the current year plus the following year and shall expire on December 31 of the following year.
Unregistered Alarm Late Fee Assessment:
Alarm system users more than sixty (60) days delinquent in renewing an existing alarm registration permit, and alarm system users more than ninety (90) days delinquent in obtaining a new alarm registration permit will be charged a $25.00 Unregistered Alarm Late Fee per each false alarm call.
False Alarm Fee Assessment:
In addition to an Unregistered Alarm Late Fee assessment (when applicable), alarms system users will be assessed a False Alarm Fee of $100.00 for the 3rd False Alarm call, $150.00 for the 4th False Alarm call, and $250.00 for the 5th and subsequent alarm call. The Hastings Police Department will send alarm system users a courtesy notification upon responding to a false alarm.
