The Highway 55 corridor is a growing commercial hub within the Hastings community.  Highway 55 has an ADT of 15,000 (2019) and a strong employment base which includes the Dakota County Administration Building and its 700 employees.  The area is anchored by Fleet Farm which opened its doors in 2022, a Walmart SuperCenter, the Westview Shopping Center, and Cub Foods. 

In addition to those anchors the corridor is home to a number of national brands including Jimmy Johns, Chipotle, Caribou, Arby's, Culvers, Wells Fargo, and McDonalds.
